Hi! I'm Gab.
I’m an Upstate NY local passionate about healthy living and financial freedom. After spending a decade in corporate marketing, I am loving doing something more personal: making videos about the good life here in Upstate New York.
I was born in Saratoga Springs and now call Troy home, so the Capital Region is where I feel most connected. But I love all of Upstate–from paddleboarding at Grafton Lakes State Park and wine tasting in the Finger Lakes to exploring the wonderfully weird town of Woodstock and obviously wandering through the Troy Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. I’ve lived in a few beautiful places from California to South Carolina, but Upstate NY has always been my #1.
When the weather is warm, you can usually find me hiking the Adirondack High Peaks or checking out new wineries and breweries. Once winter hits, I’m either snowboarding (very badly), ice skating at the Empire Plaza Ice Rink (also very badly), or plotting my escape somewhere south (probably Mexico).
Most of my content focuses on life in Upstate NY, but I’m equally passionate about sustainability, international travel, and healthy eating. If you love veggies, we’ll get along just fine.
My Mission
Upstate New York is the perfect place to take a more unconventional path. It’s less expensive, less crowded, and full of real-estate opportunities for anyone looking to put down roots. The people are down to earth, the pace is slower, and there’s plenty of room to build the kind of life you actually want.
Sure, we’re a little behind on things like public transit and job opportunities, but that’s changing fast. As the cost of living rises elsewhere and the weather gets crazier every year, Upstate feels more and more like a good place to be.
My goal is to show people just how much potential this region has. From small towns with big character to the natural beauty that’s right outside our doors, I want to share the stories, places, and possibilities that make Upstate New York an incredible place to live, work, and grow.
